UFC heavyweight Alex Pereira has been involved in several public disputes regarding his career and professional standing. Following a confrontation at a Misfits Boxing event where security intervened to remove a streamer who insulted him, Pereira turned his attention to the UFC promotion itself.

In a recent interview, Pereira accused the UFC and commentator Daniel Cormier of manipulating public opinion to favor a heavyweight title fight between Ciryl Gane and Josh Hokit. Pereira expressed frustration over being denied an immediate rematch with Gane, alleging that the promotion used influential figures to manufacture public acceptance for the Gane-Hokit matchup. Daniel Cormier has denied these conspiracy claims, stating he was not instructed by the UFC to promote the bout and that his support was based on factual analysis.

Industry figures have criticized Pereira’s stance. Hall of Famer Michael Bisping called Pereira’s dismissal of the Gane-Hokit fight “crazy” and defended the UFC 334 lineup, suggesting Pereira’s frustrations regarding the Madison Square Garden running order might stem from his own disappointment following his loss to Gane. Additionally, former champion Henry Cejudo criticized Pereira for complaining about his path to title opportunities, arguing that the UFC has actually provided him with preferential treatment by allowing a much faster ascent through the rankings than traditional contenders.

While the heavyweight title is set to be contested at UFC 334, Pereira remains scheduled to face Sergei Pavlovich at UFC 335 in December.
