Algerian footballers have demonstrated strong club performances in late August and September 2026. Anis Hadj Moussa scored his first goal for Feyenoord in a draw against ADO Den Haag, while Ilan Kebbal and Samir Chergui contributed to a Paris FC victory in France. Following his performance, Kebbal described his exclusion from the 2026 World Cup squad as ‘a bit unjust’.

By late September, Hadj Moussa maintained his momentum with two consecutive braces in the Eredivisie. This included a performance in Feyenoord’s 5-0 win over FC Utrecht, where he scored in the 6th and 33rd minutes. This scoring streak, which included a previous two-goal game against PEC Zwolle, resulted in his selection for the Algeria national team squad for upcoming 2027 AFCON qualifiers against Zambia and Burundi, as well as a friendly against Niger.

Following his growth at Feyenoord, analysts Wim Kieft and René van der Gijp have expressed high praise for the winger, noting his rapid development and impact at the Champions League level. Despite a reported failed transfer to Al Ittihad, commentators suggested his continued growth may prove more valuable to the club. Analysts highlighted his ability to challenge elite defenders, drawing comparisons to top-tier Premier League talent.

Reflecting this upward trajectory, a recent Transfermarkt update saw significant market value shifts within the Eredivisie. Hadj Moussa’s market value reached 28 million euros, contributing to Feyenoord’s position as the second most valuable squad in the league with a total value of approximately 245.23 million euros.
