The Alpine hospitality sector is experiencing a period of industry recognition and significant infrastructure expansion.

In early September, the Jufenalm Boho Wellnesshotel in Maria Alm, Austria, received the SPA Star 2026 Newcomer award following major renovations. These upgrades included the expansion of the ‘Cloud Nine’ spa area, the addition of various saunas, and an increase in room capacity to 38 suites and rooms.

By late September, broader developments were noted across the region. Franz-Josef Perauer of the Alpine Hideaway Zillertalerhof was named ‘Hotel Leader of the Year 2026’ at the Independent Hotel Show Munich Awards for his work in sustainability and design. Additionally, the Höflehner family announced a transition to the Höflehner Naturresort for the 2026/27 winter season, which will introduce new family accommodations and a dedicated adult-only wellness concept.
