Amazon has launched a same-day fresh grocery delivery service in Germany, initially operating in Frankfurt, Cologne, and Munich. The service allows customers to order items such as meat, dairy, fruit, vegetables, and frozen goods through the standard Amazon.de website or app.

Deliveries are managed directly by Amazon using insulated, recyclable packaging for temperature-sensitive products. Delivery windows are offered in two-hour or four-hour increments, with fees varying based on Prime membership status and order value. Amazon has indicated plans to expand this service to more metropolitan regions in the near future.

The entry into the same-day grocery market increases competition for established German supermarket chains, including Rewe, Lidl, and Edeka. Amazon utilizes its existing logistics network to allow customers to combine grocery orders with other product categories in a single transaction.
