In late July 2026, Ancestry.com announced a major update to its global genealogy database, adding new record collections from locations such as Broken Hill (Australia), Bangor (Maine, USA), Lwów (Poland) and several counties in Wales, England and Scotland. The update also refreshed existing collections, including the England and Wales Register, Scottish and Northern Irish obituary indexes, and expanded Newspapers.com indexes for numerous U.S. states and districts, adding hundreds of millions of indexed records.

During the first week of August 2026, the company continued the rollout, introducing 7,630 free online Georgia collections organized into 24 categories and releasing a downloadable guide. Additional Card Catalog updates added U.S. school yearbooks (1900–2016), Baptist missionary and church records from Georgia, an Indiana marriage index, Scottish prison records, Edinburgh death warrants, Arkansas enemy-alien registrations, Union deserter lists, and a Massachusetts newspaper index, among other datasets.

In the week of August 15 to 21, 2026, the platform expanded its holdings with large-scale Find a Grave® indexes covering Germany (1600s to present), Norway (1800s to present), and Australia and New Zealand (1800s to present). A global index for burials at sea and other select locations, dating back to the 1300s, was updated with over 24 million indexed records. Furthermore, new English historical records from Cheshire were added, including Church of England marriages, banns, baptisms, and burials spanning from 1538 to 1939.
