Anci Sicilia launched a new network of monthly listening offices across 51 municipalities in Sicily to establish direct communication between local administrations and young citizens. The initiative, overseen by the association’s Youth Policy Commission, utilizes a six-month experimental period where municipal administrators and youth delegates hold regular meetings to co-design community projects. In Messina, the program has established a specific schedule at the Info Point YoungME, where meetings occur on the last two Wednesdays of each month. This allows youth to discuss ideas, needs, and community issues directly with local officials. In Gela, the implementation of this service has already identified several key areas of concern. Beyond traditional topics like education and employment, participants raised issues regarding social vulnerability, fragility, and the protection of women victims of violence. Discussions also focused on youth entrepreneurship and the necessity of improving local capacity to connect citizens with institutional services. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-26: Sicily launches youth listening network and local initiatives A new ANCI Sicilia initiative has launched a network of listening centers to foster dialogue between Sicilian youth and local administrations, with sessions already underway in cities like Messina and Gela. 8 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/anci-sicilia-launches-youth-listening-service-in-gela ### 2026-10-06: Anci Sicilia launches youth listening network across 51 municipalities Anci Sicilia has launched a network of monthly listening offices in 51 municipalities to facilitate direct dialogue between local administrators and young citizens regarding community projects and needs. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/anci-sicilia-launches-youth-listening-network-across-51-municipalities --- Cite as: Anci Sicilia youth listening network initiative.
