The Andong International Maskdance Festival is scheduled to run for 11 days from September 24 to October 4, featuring 27 international performance groups from 23 countries. Malaysia will serve as the guest of honor for the event, which includes global mask parades and traditional Korean mask dances across locations such as Hahoe Village and Andong Station.

To support the festival, Andong City is launching the ‘Global Host-Mobile Festival Information Center’ starting September 24. This mobile service, managed by a volunteer group of 45 city employees, aims to reduce language barriers by providing on-site interpretation in English, Japanese, Chinese, and Spanish. Mayor Kwon Ki-chang characterized these volunteers as ‘field practitioners of local diplomacy’ intended to serve as a bridge between the city and international visitors.
