Sources: 13. Developments: 2. Former Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has released a new book titled ‘Pueblo’, which addresses various political and diplomatic tensions. The publication coincides with scrutiny regarding his family and allies, specifically involving reports that the Financial Intelligence Unit is monitoring approximately 1.433 billion pesos in financial operations directed toward Switzerland. These investigations involve businessman Jorge Amílcar Olán Aparicio, who has been linked to Andy López Beltrán. While reports suggest U.S. agencies are analyzing potential links between Andy López Beltrán and organized crime, Mexican officials have denied any formal investigation. In the book, López Obrador also addresses his fractured relationship with businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego and criticizes the conduct of U.S. Ambassador Ronald Johnson. He describes Johnson as an ‘intrusive policeman’ rather than a diplomat, accusing him of acting with arrogance and violating principles of sovereignty. The text further highlights historical tensions with U.S. agencies, including past CIA involvement in Chihuahua and concerns regarding espionage and the illegal flow of weapons. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-04: López Obrador criticizes U.S. Ambassador's diplomatic conduct Former Mexican President López Obrador criticizes U.S. Ambassador Ronald Johnson's conduct in his new book, while analysts warn of a decline in Mexico's historical diplomatic sovereignty. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/lpez-obrador-criticizes-us-ambassadors-diplomatic-conduct ### 2026-10-03: Andrés Manuel López Obrador releases new book amid political scrutiny Former Mexican President López Obrador releases his book ‘Pueblo’ amid scrutiny of his son’s alleged ties to business figures and a public confrontation with businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/andrs-manuel-lpez-obrador-releases-new-book-amid-political-scrutiny --- Cite as: Andrés Manuel López Obrador political and diplomatic book.
