Reports from Germany highlight ongoing efforts to rehome various animals through shelters and foster care.

In Nuremberg, the local animal shelter is seeking homes for a diverse group of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, chinchillas, and pigeons. The shelter noted specific needs for animals such as Rudi, a herding dog mix requiring a calm environment, and older dogs like Balou, who needs medical attention. The facility also reported an influx of stray cats, noting that its emergency service is called weekly for abandoned or feral animals. The shelter has called for increased responsible ownership and mandatory spaying and neutering to address uncontrolled breeding.

In Cologne, foster care efforts are focused on specific animals, including a pair of cats, Urmel and Georgie, who must be rehomed together. Urmel requires medication for epilepsy, while Georgie is described as more courageous. Additionally, a Shepherd dog named Emmi is seeking a home where she can be the only pet.
