Following devastating wildfires in Attica and Boeotia, the Megara Municipality reported a large-scale rescue operation involving volunteers, veterinarians, and animal welfare organizations. 

A total of 282 animals were rescued, consisting of 222 pets, 14 wild animals, and 46 livestock. The Megara Olympic Municipal Stadium acted as a central hub for registration and medical care. While 131 animals were returned to their owners and 91 were placed with foster families, the operation recorded 4 fatalities.
