Individual animal shelters are seeking permanent homes for rescue dogs.

In Australia, the RSPCA NSW Hunter shelter is looking for a home for Jokah, an 8-year-old Bullmastiff. Staff describe him as a gentle companion who prefers being the only pet and requires a household with children aged 12 or older.

In Germany, the Tierheim Schwerte shelter has named Odin, a seven-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, its animal of the month. Odin was surrendered due to changing family circumstances and requires an active environment with mental stimulation.
