Reports from South America indicate various incidents involving animal welfare and rescue operations.

In Argentina, authorities and volunteers responded to two separate cases: the rescue of a puppy from physical abuse in Pilar and the successful capture of a maned wolf in an industrial area of Rosario.

In Colombia, two puppies were abandoned at El Dorado International Airport by travelers following documentation issues during an inspection. Meanwhile, in Peru, police dismantled a clandestine breeding operation in Lima, rescuing 48 bulldogs that were being kept in unsanitary, overcrowded conditions and had reportedly undergone vocal cord surgery to avoid detection.
