This seizure led to a lawsuit filed by the legal defense of veterinarian Cristian Herrera, who alleges “falsification of public instruments and malicious reporting.” In Paraguay, the Public Ministry raided a residence in Ñemby to rescue a dog suffering from severe injuries and weight loss, leading to a criminal case against the owner. Additionally, the National Directorate of Animal Defense, Health, and Welfare filed a formal complaint in the Itapé area of Caapucú after footage emerged of two horses left exposed to intense storms.
