The state government, led by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, reported that suspects were jailed within 24 hours of the incident, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed, and a 500-page charge sheet was prepared. To assist the victim’s family, the state provided ₹25 lakh in financial aid and secured government employment for the victim’s father and brother. In response to requests from the parents, the Chief Minister ordered a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe. The parents of the 19-year-old victim subsequently met with senior CBI officials in New Delhi to share details and seek justice. This meeting followed a protest near India Gate, where the family demanded the revocation of a ‘VIP’ appointment implicated in the case pending the completion of the CBI investigation.
