The city of Šiauliai and its local institutions have held significant anniversary celebrations.

In September, the city marked its 790th anniversary with festivities including the inauguration of Honorary Citizens at the ‘Saulė’ concert hall. A large-scale artistic production titled ‘Light Geometry’ was staged at Sun Clock Square, utilizing music, choreography, and light installations to represent the city’s history.

Following this, the Šiauliai Culture Center celebrated its 80th anniversary with a musical performance titled ‘Aštuoniasdešimt įkvėpimų’ (Eighty Inspirations). The event at the center’s Grand Concert Hall combined historical archives and photography with live music from the New Ideas Chamber Orchestra (NIKO) and modern projections.
