Toluca manager Antonio Mohamed has been involved in multiple high-profile disputes regarding officiating and conduct in Liga MX.

Following a 3-3 draw against Cruz Azul, Mohamed criticized referee Katia Itzel García, claiming she was “not at the level” required for high-stakes matches. He argued that Toluca would have won with a “normal referee” and specifically cited the failure to issue red cards to certain players. The incident also involved physical contact by Cruz Azul defender Willer Ditta toward an assistant referee.

In a subsequent match against Tigres, Mohamed was sent off after a halftime confrontation involving a verbal altercation with goalkeeper Nahuel Guzmán. Upon receiving a red card, Mohamed engaged in a dispute with officials and gestured toward Tigres supporters, reminding them of his previous championship wins against the club.
