The tour started with a sold-out performance in Houston, Texas, followed by shows in Austin and Dallas. The play, written and directed by Gajendra Ahire, focuses on themes of loneliness and companionship. Following the tour's progress, the State of Ohio issued a special proclamation honoring Kher’s four-decade cinematic career and his live stage performance in Columbus. Kher expressed gratitude to Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Lieutenant Governor Jim Tressel for the recognition. The tour reached a milestone in Toronto, marking the 25th show of the production. Starring Kher alongside Swaroop Sampat, Kher described the tour as a “great success” and noted the unique emotional connection of live theater, which allows for a shared “heartbeat” between the performer and the audience. The tour is scheduled to continue through October 11, with upcoming stops in Detroit, Raleigh, New Jersey, New York, and Boston. ## Timeline ### 2026-09-27: Anupam Kher celebrates 25th show of Hindi play in Toronto Actor Anupam Kher marked the 25th show of his Hindi play ‘Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane’ in Toronto as part of an ongoing North American tour. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/anupam-kher-celebrates-25th-show-of-hindi-play-in-toronto ### 2026-09-21: Anupam Kher honored by the State of Ohio for cinematic career Bollywood actor Anupam Kher has been honored with a special proclamation by the State of Ohio for his four-decade cinematic career and his stage performance in Columbus. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/anupam-kher-honored-by-the-state-of-ohio-for-cinematic-career ### 2026-09-07: Anupam Kher launches North American tour of Hindi play Anupam Kher has begun a North American tour of his Hindi play ‘Jaane Pehchaane Anjaane’, starting with a sold-out performance in Houston, Texas. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/anupam-kher-launches-north-american-tour-of-hindi-play --- Cite as: Anupam Kher North American theatre tour.
