Following FDA authorization in the United States for the AirPods Pro 2, which allows the device to serve as an over-the-counter hearing aid software device, the technology has begun expanding internationally. In Canada, the feature has been launched for AirPods Pro 2 and AirPods Pro 3 in select provinces, including Alberta, British Columbia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, and Saskatchewan. Availability in these regions is currently restricted to provinces where over-the-counter hearing aids are legally permitted.
