Code discovered in the first release candidate of macOS 26.7 suggests that Apple is testing at least two different game controller prototypes, identified by the code names T6502 and T1057.

The T6502 is described as a more basic model that functions via USB and includes an Options button, but lacks an accelerometer, gyroscope, or touchpad. It features a four-channel haptic system. The T1057 is a more advanced premium model featuring Bluetooth connectivity, an accelerometer, and a gyroscope for three-axis motion detection. Both controllers share a layout similar to modern Xbox and PlayStation controllers, including analog sticks, triggers, directional pads, and ABXY buttons.

The models differ in their haptic feedback implementation: the T6502 uses software-based vibration management, while the T1057 allows the system to dynamically query the controller for its specific vibration capabilities.

Although these profiles were present in the initial macOS release candidate, they were notably absent from the subsequent version (RC2). This removal has led to speculation regarding whether the devices are intended as official consumer products or are merely internal testing hardware used to verify OS compatibility and haptic feedback algorithms.
