The platform is increasingly emphasizing a strategy centered on high-caliber, critically acclaimed series and films to attract and retain subscribers. Unlike many competitors, the service primarily hosts its own original productions. Recent and ongoing highlights include the comedy ‘Trying’, which has reached its fifth season, as well as engagement-driving titles such as ‘Ted Lasso’, the sci-fi series ‘Dark Matter’, and the thriller ‘Slow Horses’. Other additions to the catalog include the comedy ‘Brothers’, the thriller ‘Last Seen’, and the action-thriller ‘Lucky’. Upcoming releases scheduled for late 2026 include the six-part comedy series ‘Small Prophets’, written and directed by Mackenzie Crook, set for release on October 7. The crime drama ‘Nocturne’, starring Liev Schreiber and Stephen Graham, is slated to premiere on October 30. Additionally, the culinary documentary series ‘Awkwafina: The Unlikely Cook’ is scheduled for a global release on November 6, following Nora Lum as she explores Asian-American gastronomy. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-03: Apple TV+ announces new original series and film releases Apple TV+ is bolstering its original content lineup with upcoming releases including the comedy ‘Small Prophets’, the crime drama ‘Nocturne’, and the culinary documentary ‘Awkwafina: The Unlikely Cook’. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/apple-tv-announces-new-original-series-and-film-releases ### 2026-09-25: Apple TV expands lineup of high-quality original programming Apple TV is expanding its lineup of high-quality original programming, featuring popular series like ‘Trying’, ‘Ted Lasso’, and ‘Dark Matter’ alongside new releases. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/apple-tv-expands-lineup-of-high-quality-original-programming ### 2026-09-12: Apple TV+ expands original programming library Apple TV+ is expanding its original content library with diverse programming, ranging from the popular comedy ‘Trying’ to upcoming dramas like ‘Your Friends & Neighbors’ starring Jon Hamm. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/apple-tv-expands-original-programming-library ### 2026-09-06: Apple TV+ features high-quality original series including Still Up Apple TV+ is highlighted for its high-quality original content, including the British comedy ‘Still Up’, which explores human connection through the lens of chronic insomnia. 4 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/apple-tv-features-high-quality-original-series-including-still-up --- Cite as: Apple TV+ original programming expansion.
