Archaeologists in southwestern Poland have uncovered an unusual burial site near Żórawina, close to Wrocław. The site features a four-meter-wide burial mound containing the nearly complete skeleton of an adult male.

Among the recovered artifacts is a necklace composed of 42 perforated and sharpened teeth. While initial reports suggested the teeth might belong to wolves, deer, or young bears, subsequent analysis indicates they likely belonged to dogs, bears, and deer, though a human origin has not been entirely ruled out. Other items found at the site include amber beads, bone beads, a flint knife, and a stone axe, suggesting the deceased may have held high social status.

In addition to the primary skeleton, researchers discovered fragments of two other adult human skulls. Recent findings suggest these heads may have been separated from the bodies prior to burial. While initial estimates dated the find to the Neolithic period, more recent excavations indicate the cemetery dates between 350 and 430 AD, placing the site in the late Roman or early Migration Period. The specific mound containing these remains appears to be a distinct and previously unknown feature within the larger cemetery.
