Archer Aviation is expanding its electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) operations through international defense partnerships and major corporate acquisitions.

Initially, Archer Aviation partnered with Korean Air to convert its Midnight eVTOL aircraft into a military transport platform. This collaboration aims to support troop deployment, medical evacuation, and search-and-rescue missions, while providing South Korea with a foothold in the advanced air mobility market.

Subsequently, Archer Aviation entered a strategic agreement with Boeing, in which Boeing will take a 20 percent stake in the company. As part of this expansion, Archer is set to acquire Boeing’s Wisk Aero, SkyGrid, and Insitu to integrate autonomous flight technologies and artificial intelligence. Archer is also working with Anduril on an autonomous military platform and has taken control of Hawthorne Airport in California to serve as a testing base for its commercial and defense-oriented aircraft.
