The ‘Archery is My Sport’ project, an initiative by the Okçular Vakfı under the Istanbul Governorship, has expanded to Tokat. A cooperation protocol was established to introduce students to both traditional Turkish archery and Olympic-style archery.

The program targets 600 students across 16 schools in seven districts. Within this framework, ten schools are designated for traditional Turkish archery, while six will focus on Olympic training. The initiative aims to preserve cultural heritage and support the physical and social development of youth ranging from age 4 to high school seniors.

Tokat Governor Abdullah Köklü indicated that teachers have undergone specialized training from the Okçular Vakfı to facilitate the instruction of these techniques. The long-term objective is to extend the project to all schools throughout the province.
