Developments: 2. Esporte Clube Vitória and the engineering firm SD Plan have scheduled the renovation of the Manoel Barradas Stadium to begin in late January 2027. The project, involving a 35-year concession and an estimated investment of R$ 405 million by the SD Arenas consortium, aims to transform the venue into a multipurpose complex for football, concerts, and cultural events. Initial plans involve increasing capacity from 30,793 to 40,597 seats and expanding luxury boxes from 20 to 116. However, club president Fábio Mota has indicated that leadership is studying design changes to potentially increase capacity to over 50,000 spectators. The modernization is expected to add R$ 100 million to the club’s annual budget through new revenue streams such as commercial areas and a museum. Construction is projected to last approximately three years, with completion targeted for 2029. The club intends to continue playing home matches at the current stadium throughout 2027 while awaiting necessary building permits and licenses. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-28: Vitória President projects R$ 100 million budget increase via Arena Barradão Vitória president Fábio Mota projects a R$ 100 million annual budget increase through the Arena Barradão project, which aims to expand capacity to over 50,000 and include multi-use commercial spaces. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/vitria-president-projects-r-100-million-budget-increase-via-arena-barrado ### 2026-10-13: Arena Barradão renovation scheduled to begin in January 2027 Renovations to transform Manoel Barradas Stadium into the multipurpose Arena Barradão are set to begin in January 2027, with an estimated investment of R$ 405 million. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/arena-barrado-renovation-scheduled-to-begin-in-january-2027 --- Cite as: Arena Barradão renovation project.
