Singer and drag queen Aretuza Lovi began a musical campaign with the release of the single ‘Tamborim’, a pop funk collaboration with Lexa inspired by Carnival-themed romance.

On October 15, Lovi released her new nine-track album, ‘Calor Nacional’, celebrating 15 years in her career. The project incorporates various pop styles with Brazilian rhythms and features collaborations with artists including Linn da Quebrada, Lexa, Romero Ferro, and Katy da Voz e as Abusadas.

Alongside the musical release, Lovi used the album to address the Brazilian political landscape, criticizing ‘bolsonarismo’ and expressing concern over the rise of the far-right. She stated that for LGBTQIA+ artists, performing in a homophobic environment serves as a “political act of resistance.”
