Under these rules, Dominican citizens holding valid United States visas can enter Argentina for tourism for up to 90 days without a visa or Electronic Travel Authorization (AVE). Dominican Ambassador Jorge Marte Báez reported a 123% growth in Dominican arrivals through August 2026, with nearly 6,000 visitors recorded, surpassing previous annual totals. In response to rising tourism flows, the two nations have expanded their cooperation. Argentina has become the third-largest source market for tourists to the Dominican Republic, with arrivals projected to reach 500,000 in 2026. To further capitalize on this trend, Dominican Tourism Minister David Collado and Argentine Secretary of Tourism Daniel Scioli signed a bilateral agreement to promote sports tourism and cultural-gastronomic initiatives. This pact includes sharing expertise in sports such as surfing, polo, golf, and padel, and involves hosting invitational sporting events in both countries. A promotional summit is scheduled for Miami before the end of December to present these joint projects to US travel agents and tour operators. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-06: Argentina and Dominican Republic sign sports tourism pact Argentina and the Dominican Republic signed an agreement to boost sports tourism and cultural exchange, targeting increased bilateral travel through joint sporting events and promotional summits. 9 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/argentina-and-dominican-republic-sign-sports-tourism-pact ### 2026-10-01: Dominican-Argentine travel increases following visa changes Travel between the Dominican Republic and Argentina has surged, with Dominican arrivals up 123% following Argentina's removal of visa requirements for certain travelers. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/dominican-argentine-travel-increases-following-visa-changes --- Cite as: Argentina-Dominican Republic tourism cooperation.
