# Peru advances 2027 Games prep, regional games progress

The IV FISU America Games opened in Lima on 20 July 2026, drawing more than 3,000 university athletes from 17 nations. Peru, the host, finished third on the medal table with 151 medals. Highlights included swimmer Analuz Pellitero’s five medals and strong performances in blind football, athletics and goalball.
