Maritime training institutions in Argentina have opened registration for upcoming academic cycles.

In Mar del Plata, the Argentine Naval Prefecture (PNA) is accepting applications for its 2027 courses at the School of Training and Capacity for Merchant Marine Embarked Personnel. The programs focus on training deckhands and naval engine auxiliaries. Applicants must be at least 18 years old by March 2027 and meet specific educational and documentation requirements, including a criminal record certificate. While the courses are free, students are responsible for the costs of issuing certificates and embarkation documents. The deadline for submission is November 13.

Additionally, the PNA has announced a regular course for the sailor category at its Paso de los Libres headquarters, running from March to December 2027. Applicants for the Paso de los Libres program must apply in person by November 12.

Simultaneously, the Merchant Marine Training and Qualification School in Ushuaia has opened enrollment for its 2026 cycle. This program offers a broader range of specialties, including Sailor, Engine Assistant, Cook, Waiter, Nurse, and Doctor. Candidates must undergo virtual intellectual exams and practical swimming and rowing tests. Specific roles, such as cooks and waiters, require proof of at least one year of experience, while medical applicants must present professional licenses.
