Municipalities in Argentina have implemented various measures to address salary gaps caused by inflation.

In Baradero, officials characterized recent worker recategorizations as a “salary recomposition” rather than performance-based recognition. Secretary of Government Luciana Depauli noted that municipal salaries were approximately 10 percentage points below the inflation rate. To manage performance, the administration increased attendance bonuses (presentismo) from 1,000 to 15,000 pesos. The local agreement also included a 3% increase and a commitment to incorporate accumulated inflation from August to December into salaries this coming December.

In Río Grande, Mayor Martín Perez signed a new agreement with several municipal unions, including ATE, UPCN, ASOEM, and ATSA. This agreement established a 5.5% increase on basic, remunerative, and bonifiable salaries effective September 1, bringing the total accumulated salary recomposition for 2026 to 21.5%. The increase extends to seniority, title-based bonuses, retirees, and scholarships, with further negotiations scheduled for mid-October regarding salary scales and child allowances.
