Entertainment executive Ari Emanuel has released his debut memoir, ‘Roll the Calls’, published by Knopf. The book chronicles his professional trajectory from his early days as a mailroom clerk at Creative Artists Agency (CAA) to his leadership roles as the head of WME Group and executive chairman of TKO Group Holdings Inc., which oversees UFC and WWE.

Emanuel, who served as the inspiration for the character Ari Gold in the series ‘Entourage’, discusses managing high-profile clients such as Adele, Billie Eilish, and Martin Scorsese. The memoir also explores personal challenges, including his experience with severe dyslexia and his early financial struggles in Los Angeles. He recounts nearly sleeping in his vehicle after spending heavily on automobile insurance for a used 1983 Le Car.

New details from the memoir provide insight into the leadership transitions at TKO Group Holdings. Emanuel describes the departure of Vince McMahon, noting that in January 2024, TKO President and COO Mark Shapiro informed McMahon he must leave the company with ‘no emeritus position, no involvement in the company whatsoever.’ McMahon reportedly acknowledged the situation, stating he had ‘clarity’ and agreeing to resign. Emanuel also revisits McMahon’s July 2022 departure following reports of hush money payments and characterizes the period of these transitions as a ‘mess’ involving legal allegations and McMahon’s health issues.
