India hosted the 11th Annual General Meeting of the Asset Recovery Interagency Network, Asia Pacific (ARIN-AP) in New Delhi from September 28 to October 1, 2026. The meeting included delegations from 32 member jurisdictions and observers such as INTERPOL and the World Bank.

Enforcement Directorate (ED) Director Rahul Navin addressed the assembly to advocate for more efficient cross-border asset recovery. He noted that while initial investigative cooperation is often strong, delays frequently occur during the enforcement of foreign orders, cross-border confiscation, and the repatriation of assets. India proposed that the network prioritize faster response times and track successful asset returns to improve accountability.

As the meeting concluded, Director Navin emphasized that recovery must be a complete process, moving beyond tracing to ensure assets are returned to victims or the exchequer. He highlighted the need for effective asset management to prevent value loss and called for rapid cooperation in tracing virtual assets via blockchain analytics. The session also addressed how revised Financial Action Task Force (FATF) recommendations will impact confiscation regime assessments. India concluded its term by handing the ARIN-AP presidency to Singapore for 2027.
