Developments: 2. The Arizona Wildcats football team, coached by Brent Brennan, entered a Week 6 Big 12 matchup against the West Virginia Mountaineers with a 4-1 record. The game was scheduled for October 10, 2026, at Milan Puskar Stadium in Morgantown. While betting analysis and the ESPN SP+ model projected an Arizona victory with a predicted score of 34-24, analysts noted potential vulnerabilities. Specifically, Arizona’s blitz-heavy defense was flagged as susceptible to explosive passing plays, and reports indicated the team might be missing key players in skill positions. On October 9, 2026, Arizona secured a 52-31 victory over West Virginia, extending their winning streak to four games and improving their overall record to 5-1 and conference record to 2-1. Despite the absence of their top three wide receivers due to injury, quarterback Noah Fifita completed 16 of 23 passes for 341 yards and three touchdowns. Sophomore Isaiah Mizell recorded a career-high six receptions for 183 yards and two touchdowns. West Virginia, led by head coach Rich Rodriguez—who previously coached Arizona from 2012 to 2017—fell to 3-3. While Cam Cook rushed for 141 yards and two touchdowns for the Mountaineers, they struggled to contain the Wildcats' passing attack. Arizona’s Lee Molette III also contributed a fumble return for a touchdown. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-09: Arizona Wildcats defeat West Virginia 52-31 in Big 12 matchup Arizona defeated West Virginia 52-31, securing their fourth straight win.
