In early July 2026, the Armani family publicly rejected a film titled “Armani: The King of Fashion,” stating it was an unauthorized biopic of the fashion icon.

Following the death of Giorgio Armani on September 4, 2025, two major projects have emerged to chronicle his legacy. While the previously rejected “Armani: The King of Fashion,” directed by Bille August, remains in development, an official biographical television series is being produced by Lux Vide in partnership with the Armani fashion house. 

Directed by Ferzan Ozpetek, who personally knew the designer, the sanctioned series will utilize brand archives and personal testimonies to highlight Armani’s impact on fashion and Hollywood. Ozpetek, who will co-write the script with Francesco Arlanch, told Variety, “I knew, admired and spent time with Giorgio, both in official settings and privately… I saw in him a brilliant artist and a determined man.”

Recent reports also noted details regarding Armani’s personal assets, including his 65-meter super yacht, ‘Main,’ which has been left to his sister Rosanna and his niece and nephew, Andrea Camerana and Silvana Armani.
