The open-source PlayStation 2 emulator ARMSX2 released version 2.8.3, which introduces the MaliSX2 custom Vulkan driver. This update is designed to improve performance on Android devices using ARM Mali GPUs, such as the Google Pixel and various Samsung Galaxy models.

Previously, Android emulation was heavily optimized for Qualcomm Adreno GPUs. The new driver expands compatibility to a wider range of hardware, including Mali G615, G715, G57, G68, G77, G78, and G78AE. While some titles like Ace Combat 4 and 5 can now run at full speed, others may still face performance limitations during upscaling.
