Following the announcement of his departure, De Lie withdrew from the final stage of the Renewi Tour due to illness. His team reported that he suffered from upper respiratory issues that developed into bronchitis. 

De Lie is scheduled to join the Swiss-based Tudor Pro Cycling Team next season on a contract lasting through 2030.
