This included a large-scale forest fire simulation conducted by the Arnsberg fire department between Arnsberg-Herdringen and Sundern-Hövel. The drill utilized drone squadrons, specialized flushing vehicles, and portable pumps to practice managing widespread fires and long transport distances. Following these practical exercises, the city launched a new civil protection initiative to address modern threats such as extreme weather, pandemics, and infrastructure failures. This program features a ‘Mobile Helfer’ (Mobile Helper) pilot project to engage volunteers and provides guidance on individual self-preparedness and emergency meeting points.
