Sources: 22. Developments: 2. Enrique Romero Razo, a former civil and criminal judge for the Tecamachalco Judicial District in Puebla, Mexico, was arrested on October 20 following a search operation at his residence. He faces charges including crimes against the administration of justice and facilitating the evasion of a prisoner. Investigations by the Puebla State Attorney General's Office (FGE) suggest that in September 2024, Romero Razo failed to submit essential legal documents to an itinerant execution judge. This omission allegedly allowed a defendant to evade justice and go free on September 18, 2024. During his arrest, reports indicated he attempted to bribe ministerial agents to avoid capture. The judge’s conduct has also been scrutinized regarding his alleged role in the case of Manuel Forcelledo Nader, who was sentenced to 76 years for a 2014 feminicide. Controversy arose when a modification of precautionary measures was authorized while Romero Razo was on a leave of absence, potentially allowing the convict to remain out of prison. Romero Razo has been ordered into preventive detention and remains incarcerated at the Tepexi de Rodríguez medium-security prison. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-28: Enrique N. linked to process for prisoner evasion in Puebla Former Tecamachalco judge Enrique N. faces indictment and preventive detention in Puebla for allegedly facilitating a prisoner's escape through the omission of legal records. 14 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/former-judge-enrique-n-processed-for-prisoner-evasion-in-puebla ### 2026-10-20: Judge Enrique Romero Razo arrested in Puebla, Mexico Judge Enrique Romero Razo was arrested in Puebla, Mexico, on charges of aiding prisoner evasion and crimes against the administration of justice, linked to a high-profile feminicide case. 10 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/puebla-ex-judge-enrique-romero-razo-arrested --- Cite as: Arrest of Judge Enrique Romero Razo in Puebla.
