In the Oristano region, a 49-year-old man was arrested in flagrante following a surveillance operation by the Forest Corps and Environmental Vigilance. Investigators linked the suspect to a series of fires in the Mascaminis area dating back to late July, including a recent blaze that destroyed Mediterranean scrubland near the Statale 131 highway. The suspect was found in possession of ignition materials, knives, and a rifle bullet.

In Calabria, a 50-year-old farmer from Zungri was caught setting fires in Filandari after being filmed by a regional drone operating under the ‘Tolleranza Zero’ monitoring campaign. The drone footage showed the individual igniting pine and oak trees, resulting in the destruction of over 2,000 square meters of vegetation. Following the intervention of Carabinieri Forestali, a judge ordered the man to serve house arrest while awaiting trial.
