In mid-October 2026, several major art events are occurring across Hungary. The Hungarian Academy of Arts (MMA) is presenting its NEXUS exhibition at Art Market Budapest, featuring works by thirty artists, including MMA scholars and members. The exhibition, curated by József Szurcsik, Tibor iski Kocsis, and Vivien Reining, explores the transition of art from the studio to the public sphere through various mediums.

Simultaneously, the 16th edition of Art Market Budapest is being held at the MTK Sportpark, serving as a large international contemporary art market with approximately 90 exhibitors from 30 countries. In Szombathely, the Szombathely Art Gallery is hosting the ‘Living Hungarian Painting 2026’ exhibition to commemorate Hungarian Painting Day, showcasing works intended to foster dialogue between three generations of Hungarian artists.
