Composer Arturo Márquez participated in a series of cultural events in Mexico and the United States in late 2026.

On September 25, Márquez joined other prominent composers in Oaxaca, Mexico, for the ‘Derechos de Autor/Arte y Cultura por la Paz’ forum. Hosted by the Sociedad de Autores y Compositores de México and the State Executive Secretariat of the Public Security System, the event focused on the role of music in fostering peace and the concept of copyright as a human right.

Following the forum, Márquez traveled to the Imperial Valley in California for a commemorative concert at the Jimmie Cannon Theatre on October 10. Performing with the Imperial Valley Symphony, Márquez led several orchestral pieces before an audience that included visitors from Mexico. During the event, Márquez reflected on his musical heritage, noting that his father, a mariachi musician, inspired his 60-year career.
