Sources: 67. Developments: 2. AS Roma has received final administrative approval for a new stadium project in Rome’s Pietralata district. The project, estimated to cost approximately 1.3 billion euros, is intended to serve as a venue for the UEFA Euro 2032 tournament and will replace the currently shared Stadio Olimpico. The development includes a facility with a capacity of roughly 60,600 spectators and features urban regeneration elements such as 12 hectares of public green space and the integration of the Castellum Aquae, an ancient Roman cistern. Construction is expected to begin in March 2027, with completion targets ranging between 2029 and 2031. Financial projections for the new venue indicate significant revenue potential. In its first year of operation, net revenues are estimated at 154 million euros, driven by hospitality and ticketing. Long-term forecasts suggest annual revenues could exceed 200 million euros by 2046. Despite the administrative progress, the project faces opposition from local community groups. These groups have announced protests, citing concerns regarding “traffic, land consumption, and noise pollution.” ## Timeline ### 2026-09-30: Infrastructure and sports developments across Italy and UK Major updates include Manchester City's financial ruling, new stadium projects for AS Roma, Verona, and Bologna, and various regional sports and road infrastructure initiatives across Italy. 23 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/as-roma-receives-final-approval-for-new-pietralata-stadium ### 2026-09-27: AS Roma stadium project receives final administrative approval AS Roma has secured final approval for its new 60,600-capacity stadium in Pietralata, Rome.
