Following a period of poor performance in the Niké liga, AS Trenčín terminated its cooperation with Dutch manager Ricardo Moniz. The decision came after the team earned only five points from nine matches, including a 0-1 home defeat against MFK Dukla Banská Bystrica.

Marek Ďanovský, a long-time figure within the club’s youth and B-team structures, was appointed as the new head coach. Under Ďanovský’s leadership, the club achieved a defensive milestone by recording three consecutive clean sheets in competitive matches—a feat not seen in two and a half years. This streak included results against Lokomotíva Košice, Skalica, and Komárno.
