According to his testimony, the hitman carried out several attempts in Nuevo Chimbote and Huaraz before successfully shooting her in the head in Caraz. Obispo Díaz identified Adrián Azuaje Solís, a Venezuelan national known as ‘José’, as the individual who contracted the killing. Azuaje Solís reportedly traveled to Caraz to supervise the execution and remains a fugitive. The hitman stated he requested 15,000 soles for the job. The death toll from the September 19 attack has increased following the death of Olimpia Avelina Pachas Osorio, a 72-year-old street vendor who died in an intensive care unit after being critically injured during the assault. The attack also resulted in four other injuries.
