The Atlanta Hawks and San Antonio Spurs met in an NBA preseason matchup. Prior to the game, the Spurs were favored by oddsmakers, while attention was focused on the Hawks’ bench defense and the development of rookie Zuby Ejiofor.

The Hawks won the contest with a score of 123-116. Despite the loss, Spurs sophomore guard Dylan Harper recorded 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists in his first preseason start. Harper was moved into the starting lineup after De’Aaron Fox was a late scratch due to soreness. Head coach Mitch Johnson noted that the preseason would serve to allow for “continued experimentation with different lineup combinations.”
