The Bahia Civil Police, working with the State Secretariat of Public Security (SSP-BA), launched Operation Thermopylae to target individuals involved in the attempted murder and kidnapping of military police officers. These crimes were reported in the Valéria neighborhood of Salvador throughout the year.

The operation resulted in the arrest of three suspects: two in Salvador and one in São Paulo. The individual apprehended in São Paulo is linked to a May incident involving seven armed men targeting three officers, while another suspect was detained for an attempted kidnapping in April. During searches of hideouts in Salvador and the Recôncavo Baiano region, authorities seized items including a drone, pistol magazines, camouflage clothing, and drug storage packaging.
