An Auckland man discovered a winning Lotto ticket worth NZD 20,111,111 after using it as a bookmark in a book for nearly two months. The ticket was originally purchased in July at the Blockhouse Bay Postshop & Stationers.

Upon scanning the ticket at a self-check kiosk, the winner initially believed he had won only a few thousand dollars. The true value of the prize, which included a Powerball First Division win, was confirmed by a lottery operator. The total NZD 40 million jackpot was split between the man and a young Auckland couple.

The winner, who requested anonymity, stated he intends to take things slowly and is considering an overseas trip.
