Journalist Aurélie Casse began serving as the official substitute presenter for the France 2 20:00 news program during the Toussaint holidays, filling in for Jean-Baptiste Marteau. Her debut drew approximately 3.91 million viewers, representing a 22.7% market share. This role follows the removal of Léa Salamé from the airwaves to maintain journalistic impartiality regarding her partner’s presidential candidacy. During her tenure, Casse averaged 3.8 million viewers, reaching a peak of 4 million viewers. This performance narrowed the audience gap between France Télévisions and TF1. While the viewership numbers were noted as a success, Casse reported feeling intense pressure and stress regarding her on-air duties. Following the conclusion of her stint, Casse described the experience of anchoring the major news program as “intense and dizzying.” ## Timeline ### 2026-11-02: France 2 presenters Julia Vignali and Aurélie Casse discuss career shifts France 2 presenters Julia Vignali and Aurélie Casse reflect on their roles, with Vignali focusing on afternoon programming and Casse completing a stint as a news substitute. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/france-2-presenters-julia-vignali-and-aurlie-casse-discuss-career-shifts ### 2026-10-31: Aurélie Casse achieves high viewership during France 2 news stint Journalist Aurélie Casse drew significant viewership for France 2, averaging 3.8 million viewers while substituting for Jean-Baptiste Marteau on the 20:00 news. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/aurlie-casse-achieves-high-viewership-during-france-2-news-stint ### 2026-10-27: Aurélie Casse debuts as France 2 news anchor Aurélie Casse has debuted as the substitute presenter for France 2’s 20:00 news, drawing nearly 4 million viewers. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/aurlie-casse-debuts-as-france-2-news-anchor --- Cite as: Aurélie Casse France 2 news anchoring tenure.
