Developments: 2. As autumn progresses in Poland, seasonal activities focus on agriculture, home maintenance, and foraging. Farmers are advised to adjust winter barley sowing schedules based on soil moisture and temperature to prevent frost damage or excessive growth. To prepare for colder months, homeowners are encouraged to seal cracks in foundations, windows, and doors to prevent mice and spiders from entering buildings. In gardens, cleaning up fallen fruit and unharvested vegetables is recommended to prevent rat infestations. Culinary and foraging activities are also highlighted, specifically the peak season for pumpkin and active mushroom picking. The current mushroom season has seen significant activity, with foragers reporting abundant harvests of porcini, bay boletes, and chanterelles due to favorable moisture and temperature conditions. Market prices for these mushrooms vary by location and species. In wholesale markets such as Łódź, porcini are priced between 25 and 50 PLN per kilogram, while chanterelles range from 30 to 35 PLN. In Wrocław, chanterelles are listed at approximately 29 to 32 PLN per kilogram. Regulations require that fresh mushrooms sold at markets or retail points possess a certificate issued by a mushroom classifier or expert to ensure safety and quality. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-04: Mushroom season in Poland sees abundant harvests and varying market prices The autumn mushroom season in Poland is in full swing, with foragers reporting abundant harvests and wholesale prices for porcini and chanterelles ranging from 15 to 50 PLN per kilogram. 14 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/autumn-microelements-support-winter-cereal-growth ### 2026-09-09: September seasonal guide for gardening and waste management September seasonal guide for Poland: gardening advice for walnuts, tomatoes, and cacti, alongside updated waste collection schedules for Krotoszyn and surrounding areas. 10 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/gardening-maintenance-tasks-for-september --- Cite as: Autumn seasonal activities in Poland.
