Anticipation for the Marvel Studios film ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ has generated significant global interest ahead of its December 2026 release. In Mexico, high demand for ticket pre-sales led to the collapse of digital platforms for major cinema chains Cinépolis and Cinemex. Promotional efforts in Mexico City have included a free exhibition of official franchise items.

In China, where the film is titled ‘Avengers 5’, Disney has confirmed a release date of December 16, two days before the scheduled United States release on December 18. Interest metrics on the Chinese ticketing platform Maoyan indicate the film is approaching the hype levels of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, reaching approximately 96% of the ‘want-to-see’ count recorded by ‘Endgame’ at the same interval. Local promotion includes a new poster featuring Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom.

In the United States, ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ is expected to compete with ‘Dune: Part Three’, both scheduled for release on December 18. Early box office data from EmpireCity Box Office suggests Marvel is outpacing ‘Dune: Part Three’ in ticket pre-sales, with an estimated ratio between 3.2 to 1 and 4 to 1. While ‘Dune: Part Three’ has secured many North American IMAX screens for the holiday period, Marvel has responded by launching its own ‘Infinity Vision’ brand to compete with IMAX formats.
