Indian packaging manufacturer AVI Global Plast has implemented the Starlinger Viscotec deCON decontamination line, marking the first installation of this technology in India. The system removes contaminants from post-consumer PET at a molecular level, enabling the production of food-grade rPET film that meets EFSA food-safety standards using 100% recycled material without blending in virgin material.

In collaboration with Norway-based Smart Packaging Industries AS, the company is also producing the Q-Bic berry punnet under license. This container utilizes a pyramidal design with 45-degree sidewalls that allows six units to form a cube, doubling shipping density per load compared to conventional packaging. AVI has also developed a patented, single-piece design for avocado packaging.
